In previous posts (Social enterprises in Poland; Social enterprises in Poland – part 2 and Revenues of Social Cooperatives in Poland), I’ve presented the chosen aspects of social enterprises operating (i.a.: percentage of social enterprises in Poland in 2018, the main branches in which social entities operate in Poland).
Today, I want to update the information about the number of social enterprises and present the main forms of business organizations of Social Enterprises in Poland, in which the entities operate.
Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Policy has published monthly reports about number of the social enterprises in Poland. These figures are periodically updated, so there is need to update of the analysis, but – most important in my opinion is the fact, that there is a possibility to depth the analysis to see the phenomenon in longer period. In this way, we are able to see how the facts are changes and how the trends are developed.
Table 1 presents the percentage of social enterprises in each voivodship in period June 2018-May 2019.

The first group would be consists of four voivodships where the percentage of social enterprises is the higher (on red and orange): wielkopolskie, podkarpackie, śląskie and warmińsko-mazurskie. The second group would be consists of the voivodships where the number of social enterprises is rather low (on green): kujawsko-pomorskie, lubelskie, łódzkie, opolskie, pomorskie, świetokrzyskie and zachodniopomorskie. In the third group there would be the voivodships where the percentage of social enterprises is moderate (on yellow): dolnośląskie, lubuskie, małopolskie, mazowieckie, podlaskie.
The most popular forms of business organizations of Social Enterprises in Poland are: social cooperatives, foundations, non-profit companies (Ltd.) and associations (Chart 1).
